Terms & Conditions

By registering an account, submitting a job application, posting a vacancy or otherwise using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

• You must be at least 16 years of age to register as a job seeker.
• Employer accounts may only be created by a person authorised to act on behalf of the organisation they represent.
• You must provide accurate, current and complete information and keep it up to date. One person may hold only one job seeker account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity carried out under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

• Information in your profile, CV and applications must be truthful and must be your own. Misrepresenting qualifications, memberships (for example CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA) or work experience is a breach of these Terms.
• You may apply only to roles you are genuinely interested in, and you must not use the Platform to send bulk unsolicited or promotional messages to employers.
• You understand that when you apply for a vacancy, your profile and CV are shared with the relevant employer.

• Every vacancy must be a genuine, currently open position with accurate details of the role, location, employment type and closing date.
• Postings must comply with applicable law, including Sri Lankan labour law and, for overseas roles, the applicable rules of the destination country and Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment requirements where relevant.
• You must not request payment from candidates for a job, an interview, training, visa processing or placement through a listing on the Platform, and you must not post discriminatory, misleading, multi-level marketing or investment-scheme content.
• Candidate data received through the Platform may only be used to assess the candidate for the advertised role, must be kept secure and must not be sold, published or transferred to third parties without the candidate's consent.
• All submissions may be reviewed by NewTurn before publication. We may edit formatting, request changes, decline or remove any listing that does not meet these standards.

• Employers receive a number of free live vacancy slots. Additional vacancies are published using paid vacancy credits or a paid plan, as described on the employer plans page.
• Prices are shown in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) or United States Dollars (USD) and are payable in advance. Purchased vacancy credits currently carry no expiry date.
• A credit is consumed when a vacancy is published. If a published vacancy is removed by us for a reason not attributable to the employer, the credit is refunded to the employer's balance.
• Except where required by law, payments for published vacancies and add-ons (such as Featured or Urgent placement) are non-refundable. Credits and plans have no cash value and cannot be transferred between accounts.
• Prices and packages may change; changes do not affect credits already purchased.

You retain ownership of the content you submit, including your CV, profile information and job descriptions. By submitting content you grant NewTurn a non-exclusive licence to host, store, display and distribute it as needed to operate the Platform — including sharing published vacancies through our website, email alerts, WhatsApp community and social media channels. The Platform itself, including the NewTurn name, logo, design and software, remains our property and may not be copied, scraped or reused without written permission.

• No unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, obscene or discriminatory content.
• No automated scraping, crawling, bulk downloading of listings or candidate data, or attempts to bypass security, rate limits or access controls.
• No impersonation of another person, company or of NewTurn, and no uploading of malware or harmful code.

NewTurn is a platform that connects candidates and employers. We are not an employer, employment agent or party to any employment relationship formed through the Platform. We do not guarantee that a job seeker will receive interviews or offers, or that an employer will find a suitable candidate. While we review listings and operate an employer verification process, we cannot independently confirm every detail provided by users. Always verify an employer and never pay money to secure a job.

The Platform links to third-party websites, employer application portals, WhatsApp groups and social media channels that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation and may suspend or modify features for maintenance or development. To the maximum extent permitted by law, NewTurn is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, or loss of data arising from your use of the Platform. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to us in the three months before the claim arose.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate an account, remove content or withdraw access where these Terms are breached, where activity appears fraudulent or unlawful, or where continued access would put other users at risk. Unused credits are forfeited where an account is terminated for a breach of these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version takes effect when published on this page, and the "last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
